Mr. Marco Toscano, the Chief of the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), based in Bangkok, Thailand called on the Hon’ble Home Minister this morning.
The meeting discussed on range of topics related to disaster risk reduction and strengthening resilience. Strengthening disaster risk governance, institution of inclusive early warning systems, promoting risk-informed investment and development, supporting community based-resilience building, implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction were some of the highlights of discussion. The importance of collaboration and engagement of other sectors in building resilience was also highlighted.
