Lately, there have been several cases of scams on the internet/social media targeting Bhutanese, particularly those that are vulnerable. Offers of jobs with attractive pay packages by individuals and/or companies whose credentials and motives are dubious/questionable have begun to increase.
Many such individuals/companies portray themselves as being legitimate and authentic. A few unsuspecting Bhutanese have already fallen victim to such scams.
The growing incidences of such scams is a matter of serious concern as people not only lose money but become vulnerable to being trafficked and exploited.
All Bhutanese are advised to exercise extreme caution and avoid responding to unsolicited emails and messages on social media.
