On 16 June 2025, the Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) and the Royal Institute of Management, launched a five-day competency-based training for Gewog Administrative Officers (GAOs) and Dzongkhag Tshogdu Secretaries (DTS).
Addressing the inaugural batch, the Chairperson of the RCSC expressed hope that the training would equip GAOs and DTS to better support local governments by strengthening planning processes, improving data accuracy, and enabling more targeted and strategic interventions at the grassroots level.
A total of 62 local government officials are being trained in planning, budgeting, procurement, public administration, artificial intelligence (AI), and disaster preparedness to enhance grassroots governance and service delivery.
This initiative marks a significant step under the “High-Performing Workforce” thrust area of the RCSC Strategic Roadmap 2025–2035.
