On the auspicious day of 25th December 2025, the Ministry of Home Affairs appointed a new Sr. Dzongrab for Dagana Dzongkhag and Sr. Dungpa for Lingzhi Dungkhag under Thimphu Dzongkhag.
Hon’ble Nangsi Lyonpo conferred the Dhar to appoint Mr. Lakjey as the Sr. Dzongrab of Dagana Dzongkhag and Mr. Pema Wangda as the Sr. Dungpa of Lingzhi Dungkhag.
Mr. Lakjey, formerly served as Senior DT Secretary I at Samtse Dzongkhag, brings over 20 years and 8 months of experience as DT Secretary across various Dzongkhags including Trashigang, Trashiyangtse and Samtse. His extensive and diverse expertise in local governance marks a significant step towards strengthening governance and promoting rural development in the Dzongkhag. He was also involved in the successful conduct of NA, NC and LG elections as Returning Officers and then served as Offtg. Procurement Officer for more two years.
Mr. Pema Wangda, formerly served as Senior Cultural Officer I at Samtse Dzongkhag, brings over 20 years and 8 months of experience as Cultural Officer across various Dzongkhags including Haa, Sarpang, Samdrup jongkhar, Wangdue Phodrang and Samtse. His extensive and diverse expertise in local governance marks a significant step towards strengthening governance and promoting rural development in the Dzongkhag. In addition, he has been working closely in the field of archaeology since 2011 and has undertaken the documentation and registration of potential archaeological and heritage sites in the country. He also served as the Officiating Beautification Officer for two consecutive years at Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag, during which he oversaw site development and plantation works within and around the Dzong premises.
They are appointed through an open competition organized recently by the Ministry.
