On the auspicious day of 17 June 2026, the Ministry of Home Affairs appointed a new Sr. Dungpa for Sombaykha Dungkhag under Haa Dzongkhag.
Hon’ble Nangsi Lyonpo conferred the Dhar upon Mr. Kelzang Jamtsho, appointing him as the Sr. Dungpa of Sombaykha Dungkhag.
Mr. Kelzang Jamtsho, who previously served as Senior Cultural Officer I at Haa Dzongkhag, brings with him over 21 years of experience in the cultural sector across various Dzongkhags, including Samdrup Jongkhar, Samtse, Bumthang, and Tsirang. He has also served as the Officiating Dungpa of Sombaykha Dungkhag for the past three years.
His extensive experience and diverse expertise in local administration and governance mark a significant step toward strengthening public service delivery, enhancing local governance, and promoting rural development in the Dungkhag.
He was selected through open competition.
