His Excellency Lungten Dorji Joins as Nangsid Lyonpo
The Ministry of Home Affairs extends a warm welcome and heartfelt Tashi Delek to His Excellency Lungten Dorji on his joining the Ministry as the Nangsid Lyonpo, following the conferment of the Dakyen by His Majesty The King on the auspicious day of 27 August 2026, coinciding with the 14th day of the 7th Month of the Fire Male Horse Year.
With over three decades of distinguished public service, His Excellency brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of public administration and local governance, having served as Dzongdag of Trashigang and Trongsa, Head of the Office of the Census Commissioner, Deputy Director of the Department of Immigration and Census, and Director General of the Department of Local Governance. In addition, His Excellency served as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan from 25 January 2024 to 19 August 2026 prior to assuming this important responsibility.
As His Excellency assumes his new role, we look forward to his leadership and guidance in advancing the Ministry’s mandate and, together with him, serving the nation and its people. We offer our prayers and heartfelt best wishes for his good health, wisdom and strength, and for a successful and fulfilling tenure in his new responsibility.
