The following delegations from Thailand visited Bhutan from 26 to 27 September 2016 to discuss the possibility of initiating collaboration in field of finding an alternate roofing material to replace the corrugated roofing sheets in Bhutan, and to provide trainings in Thailand to the Bhutanese artisans in the field of plumbing, masonry, electrical, reinforced concrete works amongst others: :

4. Mr.Nopporn Latthitham, Building Materials Division Manager, SCG Trading Co., Ltd.
5. Mr.Panurungsee Sriwaratta, Business Development – Housing, SCG Cement-Building Materials Co., Ltd.
6. Mr.Narin Sirakarun, Managing Director of T-One Metalic and Supply Co. Ltd
7. Mr.Chakporn Oonjitt, Executive Director of the Construction Institute of Thailand (CIT).
During their visit, the Thai Delegations paid a courtesy call to His Excellency the Prime Minister of Bhutan, followed by meeting with the Honorable Home Minister, Home Secretary and other officials from the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs on September 26, 2016 at the Trashichhodzong, Thimphu.
Mr. Narin Sirakarun committed to offer 1 million Baht to the Royal Government of Bhutan for the re-roofing works of Taktshang, Paro.
