Dasho Sonam Topgay, Secretary, Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs, Tashi Tobgye, Director and other senior officials of the Department of Civil Registration and Census (DCRC) met with the Austrian business delegation Alexander Ristic, International Sales Manager of Osterreichische Staatsdrukerei GmbH: specialized identity management industry ( eOSD) and Dr. Oskar Andesner, Commercial Counsel of the Austrian Embassy in New Delhi on 27/10/2016.
During the meeting, Director, DCRC presented on the evolution of the Citizenship identity card system in Bhutan from modest paper based to current citizenship identity card with high security features.
Mr. Alexander Ristic, while fully appreciating the type of card that Bhutan issues at the moment informed the meeting of other areas and opportunities that Bhutan and Austria can work together in future, particularly on the concept of Mobile Identity Application (MIA) and breeder documents. Breeder documents are birth, death and other vital documents with security features, which the DCRC has expressed keen interest to take up with OeSD in future.
