There are currently two private security firms operating in the country, namely, Bhutan Elite Security Services and Jachung Security Services.
In the absence of policies/mechanisms governing these entities, the MoHCA has not been able to assess how these firms have been training their security personnel and operating in the country.
In view of the above, the MoHCA has proposed to the RGoB on the need to put in place a policy framework to regulate operation of such private security firms. Accordingly, the Lhengye Zhungtshog approved the Guidelines for Private Security Firms and Private Security Personnel, 2016 at the 111th Lhengye Zhungtshog.
In this regard, the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs would like to request all the concerned agencies to kindly follow the said guideline, hereafter.
